For a third straight year, the York Pioneer & Historical Society (YPHS), the Town of York Historical Society/Toronto's First Post Office, and the Riverdale Historical Society are partnering to bring together people who share a passion for Toronto's rich past!
​
Join us from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at St. Matthew's Clubhouse, 450 Broadview Avenue (just north of Gerrard Street East) for an afternoon dedicated to exploring Toronto history!
​
Browse curated artifact displays, meet and chat with local authors and podcasters, connect with historical societies, and take part in guided neighbourhood walks. Whether you're a lifelong history enthusiast or simply curious about Toronto's past, you'll discover something new and meet others who share your interest!

Admission is free. Come celebrate Toronto's history and the people who help keep its stories alive!

This walking tour centres on three early Toronto settler families: the Simcoes, Scaddings, and Playters. From the Scadding Estate, we will jaunt up Broadview, Danforth, and Bloor to Castle Frank while discussing their histories and legacies.

Patricia Stowe, "Scadding’s Lot 15, from early to present day"
​
John Scadding received a land grant of approximately 250 acres just east of the Don known as Lot 15. We will learn about some of the varied purposes this land has served over the last 200+ years.

Note: Walking tour registration is first come first serve on the day of the event.
